Our Mission The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals of Hancock County (SPCA) is an independent, nonprofit organization dedicated to the promotion of animal welfare, to the protection, sheltering, and placement of companion animals into responsible, loving homes, to humane education in the community, and to local, state and national animal advocacy.   Our hours of operation are Tuesday and Thursday 11- 6.  Wednesday, Friday and Saturday 11-5.  Sunday 11-4.  We are closed on Mondays. In addition to offering cats and dogs for adoption, the SPCA holds classes in dog behavior and training and hosts community events throughout the year.
